We will never forget.
I can't believe it's been eight years. I was standing in the living room, folding laundry, eighteen years old and 8 1/2 months pregnant with Trip when my Daddy called to tell me to turn on the television, and to pray, and everyone's lives were forever changed.
Davey was working at Fed Ex at the time, and the talk of something happening in Memphis made me grateful he was already home. I remember him walking in, half asleep, in total shock. The calls to family and friends to make sure they were okay, or to see if they'd heard the news.
I remember the people I love battling in prayer--because we have a Mighty God who can stop battles, move mountains, and is victorious over the evil one. I remember the first time I found myself being a true prayer warrior. Today, as we remember 9/11 and our country, and our troops, and all the volunteers who help keep us safe at home, let's remember to praise God for all he has blessed us with and to pray for peace here at home. We may be in a physical time of war, but let us not forget the spiritual warfare that is waging daily all around us.
I remember how people treated one another in the months that followed. How there was such a huge change and movement of love and goodwill. How many people didn't react in fear, but in confidence that we would be victorious. In God We Trust.
I never claim to be perfect, only forgiven. I don't always do what I ought to, but I feel the urging and conviction of the Holy Spirit when I mess up. Because I am a child of God, I want to share these verses concerning spiritual warfare today, for such a time as this. I want to encourage you to read Deuteronmy 32:30 and Psalm 91:7.
I recently learned in my Bible Study class, on Tuesday, the promise of the Power of two people praying in agreement.
One person praying can rout one-thousand demons.
Two persons praying can rout ten-thousand demons.

I'd like to share a favorite verse of mine, after saying that today I take the opportunity to let whomever may read this know that again, I never claim to be perfect. I mess up, and my biggest issue has been harboring unforgiveness toward those who may have hurt me one way or another over the years. Intentionally or not, please accept my apology, please know that I forgive you. I don't know who might read this. But I know in my heart the ones I've hurt and the ones I have been unforgiving to.
II Corinthians 2:10-11
Also,
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14
We will never forget.
